A VERY PRODUCTIVE DAY.

I am adventurous but also lazy.. so i end up not doing the things that i want or planned. But today (technically yesterday) is, as the title says, a very productive day.

Today is my first day of summer break. And salvaging what's left of my summer vacation, I immediately tried to organize my life and attend to my responsibilities for the org.

With just 5 hours of sleep, I went to Divisoria with Billy and Anne to canvass for our org shirt. We officially started our window shopping at around 9am. We had our path laid-out: One side then 168 then the other side. We searched along juan luna st. and 168 for polo shirt. (Yes, yes.. it is highly probable that the jpia shirt for next sem will be collared! Haha hope we won't disappoint the expectations of the members.) We have our prospects. I won't disclose the prices of course, but it was ok. Now, we can focus with the design. Btw, I had a little side-trip at 168. I bought a USB led-lamp for the dorm so that I wouldn't be charged another for the electricity.

After lunch we went to RECTO. It was another long walk to the jeepney station. Our agenda at Recto was to canvass for ID Laces. I would say that it was also accomplished.

We finished the two tasks at past 3pm. I forgot that the bank closes at 3pm so I still rode a Philcoa bound FX. I did double my trip bec. I still went to Q Ave MRT Station rather than going directly to Lawton. Anyway, added adventure.

So three tasks done: Canvass for Shirt, Canvass for ID Lace, Buy USB Lamp

And I'm not yet done!

I had my hair rebonded from 5pm to the closing time of 9pm. From walking all afternoon to sitting all night... Owel, balanced! It was a Korean Salon with real Korean hairdressers. It is really amazing to listen to people in the salon. The assistants were calling one another "be." There was nothing wrong but it was a bit disturbing, dunno why. Anyway no big issue there. One assistant asks me if I'm working (okay, should I be insulted? Never mind). Of course I told them that I was a college student. They asked me where. I answered, UP Diliman. Their reactions was the typical.. a bit in awe... hehe yabang! But then she asks... "dba dun yung may maraming namatay sa hazing?" Uhm.. ate opo may isa last year... marami po ba yun? Grr kainis actually na ang connotation na with UP is the fraternity violence. Can't they ask other things like.. ahh dba national university na kayo? Well I wouldn't blame her.. bad publicity e. But I just wish that they would see the great things in UP. Okay, next.

Super nakakaawa rin ung mga assistant and the stylists as well. It is obvious that they are understaffed. Tapos 9-9 pa ung work nila. Imagine twelve hours of blowers, ironing and shampooing. Naaawa nga ako sa kanila kasi after ironing or blowering, shampoo naman.. vv. Pero it nakakatuwa kasi first time ko to experience 3 people doing my hair. Haha! There were 3 people blowering my hair and 2 people ironing it. Kasi naman nagmamadali na sila 'coz closing na and pagod na rin sila I guess. One assistant is even feverish for the whole day but she continued with her work. The Korean hairdressers are very kind and down to earth. Although there is an evident language barrier kaya di masyado naguusap... just hearing and seeing them (hairdressers) talk kindly and humorously with the assistants is fun. They don't mind doing the "menial" jobs such as the blowering. Basta nakita nilang kaya nilang gawin and walang available, they would take on the job. Admirable din ung energy ng mga stylists kasi 3 lang sila for the whole day. And marami talagang customers... so imagine the stress. But they were the first hairstylists that I saw who really seem to have a passion for their job... i dunno but you'll just see it in them. I'm wondering how much is their salary? As well as the assistants'? Two were talking about retiring na nga because of the work... imagine 12 hours. Another that i really wouldn't forget was the P1,000 tip of the mother of a Chinese boy to the assistant, while it was only P500 for the hairdresser. First odd thing was that the assistant got a higher tip than the hairdresser. Second, gosh P1500 for a tip?? Haha. Ako nga I only gave P100 for the hairstylist and P100 for all the assistants (grabe ang dame nilang naghandle sa akin.. i guess five or more sila). Sorry naman, estudyante lang po.

Anyway, that's one productive day. Hope it would be repeated. :DDD

ZzzzZzz....
